The Liver Sketching Club, believed to be the oldest continuously active art club in England, will celebrate its 150th anniversary in May 2022.

It was founded in 1872 and has been active in the city ever since.

Details of events to mark this significant milestone will be shown on this website nearer the time.

We already have two exhibitions booked.

This is the draft plan for our return to the studio - all of it to be confirmed nearer the time and it all depends on the government's guidelines not changing.

Sometime soon after 12 April, we hope to resume classes with the same rules we had for the temporary classes last year - limit of 7 members / masks / distancing / hand sanitising / no tea or coffee.

In week commencing 17 May or soon afterwards, we hope to resume classes with no restriction on numbers but with sensible rules still applying.

From the final lifting of restrictions in June, we should be back to normal with classes every day. Even then, we should all still take sensible precautions.

The full programme of classes may not begin immediately as each Class Leader's individual situation differs and they will need to decide when it is safe for them personally to return to the studio.

The studio will be available for members' personal hire from 12 April.

This would be just for a member and a model, and the usual Covid rules will apply.

All bookings must be made by email to liversketchingclub@yahoo.co.uk and David will keep a diary of bookings to ensure that bookings do not clash and members who hire the studio have the space to themselves for that time.
