No Thursday evening life class on 23 December but back to normal from 30 December.

All this is assuming there are no further lockdowns.

new classes.

There will be two new evening classes in the studio from January.

Monday evenings:

From 3 January, Sally-Anne will run classes on Monday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. They will alternate each week between portrait and life - beginning with portrait on 3 January.

Wednesday evenings:

From 12 January, Kathy will run Wednesday evening classes from 6pm to 9pm. The first three Wednesdays of each month will be same model/same pose for three consecutive Wednesdays - a total of 9 hours, alternating between life and specially arranged costume poses. The remaining Wednesday[s] in the month will be 3-hour single-pose sessions. That may be one Wednesday or two depending on the particular month. Members who cannot be there for the full 9 hours are welcome to join in for some of the sessions, but members who will be there for the full time will have first choice on where they sit/stand. Both classes are likely to be charged at the 'life' rate, but this will be confirmed nearer the time.

Covid:

Both Class Leaders will need to keep members, guests and models safe while in the studio during this difficult time, so would like attendees to bring flasks/drinks and not make tea/coffee in the studio. As usual, all windows and the door must be kept open during classes and masks worn at all times.

Updated: Dec 14, 2021

Update 14th December 2021

In view of the increasing levels of infection and more stringent regulations in place nationally, with immediate effect, masks must be worn by everyone at all times when in the studio no matter how many - or few - people are in the space. Please ensure both mouth and nose are covered by the mask.

As before, the windows and door should be open throughout each class.

The club's Covid policy is reviewed each month.

Classes resumed in the studio on Monday 8 November and a new procedure has been agreed by the Committee in an effort to keep everyone safe and avoid having to suspend classes again in the future. The Committee and Class Leaders have a part in the procedure, but it won't work unless members do their part.

If you have tested positive or have any symptoms – even a cold – please do not go to the studio.

If you test positive, or if someone in your household tests positive, and you have been in the studio during the last week, please inform the club straight away by email and please don’t return to the studio for at least 10 days.

If you have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive, and you have been in the studio during the last week, please inform the club straight away by email and please don’t return to the studio for at least a week.

While in the studio, masks must be worn at all times except when in your place to draw, and please use hand sanitiser. All the studio windows must be open.

To make this work and to keep everyone safe, it is incumbent on each member to regularly check their emails.

If and when a member reports an issue, all members will be informed of the situation, identifying the class involved, and asking anyone who was in that class to stay away for one week and test. The Class Leader whose class was affected will inform the model and let the Secretary know of any guests who were at that class. The classes will continue to run.

Stay safe.

Updated: Oct 31, 2021

There have now been two occasions this week where members have inadvertently attended classes after being in close contact with someone who tested positive. Each time, we have had to identify and contact each person who was in the studio - members, models and, more of a problem, non-members - to warn them and ask them not to return to the studio until after a negative test.

This is incredibly time-consuming and there is always the possibility of missing someone who could be at risk.

The Directors and Committee are responsible for the safety of everyone who comes to the studio - not just members - and it has been decided to suspend all classes immediately until the end of next week. Classes should resume on Monday 8 November.

We hope you understand the reasons for this decision and support it.

UPDATE

Tuesday portrait class: Ian has arranged for the model to sit from home on Tuesday, so the session will be available online only.
