Thursday 8th December saw club members and their guests meet at the Williamson Gallery & Museum for the final event of our anniversary year.

The curator of the exhibition, Niall Hodson, gave a fantastic speech and members enjoyed the chance to view the club's exhibition, catch up with each other and toast this past, historic year for the club with drinks.

The exhibition will remain up until 17th December.

Copies of David Brown's excellent book titled '150 years of The Liver Sketching Club' are still available for purchase for £12, but the print run is limited, so anyone who wants one should contact David directly via davidartshed@yahoo.co.uk to place an order.

The book about the history of our club - "150 Years of The Liver Sketching Club" - is now available for sale.

Written by longstanding member and past president of the club, David Brown, this excellent read draws on archive material, research in the British Library, information from local history groups and and the firsthand knowledge of many individuals, to weave together the fascinating story of England's oldest continuously active art club.

It is a 'must read' for both club members and anyone interested in the local history of the Liverpool area.

It is an A4 paperback with 84 pages of text and photographs, and costs £12.

Only 100 copies are available.

If you would like a copy or for more information, please email davidartshed@yahoo.co.uk (NOT to the club's email address).

The final exhibition of our 150th Anniversary year, at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum in Birkenhead, is now OPEN!

Featuring work by members both past and present, along with archive items documenting the club’s long history, the exhibition is a fitting celebration of a society which has survived through two World Wars, two depressions, two global pandemics, and several skirmishes with insolvency.

Come along to this fabulous exhibition and join us for two very special events.
