The final event of our anniversary year will be an exhibition at the Williamson Art Gallery & Musuem, Slatey Road, Birkenhead.

This fascinating exhibition will feature work by past Liver Sketching Club members from the Williamson's permanent collection, from our club, the Artists' Club, other galleries, and from private collections.

It will also include work by those current club members who are already in the Williamson's permanent collection.

As well as paintings and drawings, there will be historical documents and photographs, ephemera, the club's collection of exhibition catalogues from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, biographies of all known past members, and a 'reconstruction' of a studio will be set up in one of the galleries at the Williamson.

We had a great day at Birkenhead Park on Saturday 20th August.

Over a hundred artists from a wide variety of clubs and associations joined us, all of whom had positive comments to make.

Members of the public were very interested and some joined in.

Our thanks to all those who helped during the day, to the excellent models who added real atmosphere to the scene, to the Birkenhead Park staff for their help in the months running up to the event and, of course, to the Canada geese and swans who all kept so still!

The weather held up and people were able to navigate the transport challenges - all in the name of Art.

ree

Thanks, most of all, to all the artists that came to make it such a special event and to those keeping an eye on us from afar!
